How to Link EVE Online Alt Characters

One EVE Trade account holds up to 10 characters — alts on the same EVE account and characters from your other EVE accounts. Link them once, and you can look at each of them or all of them together without signing in and out.

Add an alt

Sign in to EVE Trade with your main character, as usual.
Open the Dashboard and press + Add character.
On the EVE sign-in page, pick the alt and allow access. Access to orders and the wallet is what the wallet and the orders analysis need; without it the character is linked, but without those numbers.
You are back on the Dashboard, and the alt is in the Characters panel. Its wallet and orders load within a minute.

Alt on another EVE account? The EVE sign-in page lists the characters of the EVE account you are signed in to there. Sign out of that account on the EVE page, sign in with the account the alt is on and pick it. Do it in the same browser where you are signed in to EVE Trade: that is how the character joins your account instead of opening a new one.

Switch between characters

In the header — the arrow next to your name opens the list: «All characters» and each character by name.
On the page — tabs at the top of the Dashboard and the orders analysis.

The choice stays as you move between those pages. Looking at an alt does not change your primary character.

All characters at once

Dashboard — the total wallet, orders and ISK in sell and buy orders, plus a table with each character.
Orders analysis — everyone's orders in one table, each row signed with its character. Every character keeps its own average buy price and sales tax, so margins do not get mixed up.
Your characters are not competitors. An order is not marked «outbid» because your own alt stands in front of it, and the «your order was outbid» alert in Telegram ignores your alts too.

What the primary character is for

The primary character is the one marked ★ in the Characters panel. Its skills set the broker fee and sales tax in station trading and arbitrage (unless you enter them by hand in Settings), its orders and wallet refresh in the background every few minutes, and the daily summary and «outbid» alerts in Telegram are about it. An alt refreshes when you open it.

To change it, press Set as primary next to another character on the Dashboard.

Detach a character

Detach sits next to each character in the Characters panel. If you detach the primary, the next character becomes primary; the last character cannot be detached.
«Already linked to a different account» means the character belongs to another EVE Trade account. Sign in with that character and detach it there, then add it here.
Up to 10 characters per account: to add an eleventh, detach one first.
